Lars joined the military after his school years. He was a part of nine months of basic military service in the Kongelige Livgarde, an infantry regiment within the Danish army. After having completed his military service he decided that it wasn't what he was looking for and began looking for something different. He then decided to pursue a degree in biology. Anette, who had been employed by the military for the past year, came home from a juggler's class to show him how well she could juggle after just three days. Lars was delighted and was eager to try it. He dropped out of college to go to a juggling school. He also took classes in fire breathing and the art of juggling. After graduating from high school, he travelled around Europe with two friends, performing on the streets of Paris, Munich, Moscow, Warsaw, and other cities. He was introduced to a circus for children two years later and began to learn children's and street theatre as and pantomime.
